Our client is a growing Top 40 accountancy practice who provide expert solutions for entrepreneurial businesses and private individuals in Central and Southern England. We have a new opportunity for a Audit & Accounts Junior to join their team in Oxford. This is a permanent full-time or part-time role with hybrid and flexible working options (flexing your hours on different days to suit your lifestyle).
Responsibilties:
- Building productive working relationships within the company and with clients as required.
- Developing and applying your technical knowledge through on the job training and formal qualifications.
- Preparing audit working papers for the areas that you are involved, including but not limited to bank, fixed assets, wages and salaries, debtors and creditors.
- Attending clients stocktakes and reporting findings.
- Assisting more senior members of staff in other areas of the file.
- Preparing notes to summarise your findings and recommendations for the senior’s, manager’s and partner’s attention.
- Posting the audit clients’ trial balances into statutory accounts format and updating disclosures as necessary.
- Producing financial accounts in accordance with FRS 102 1A and FRS 105 as well as sole trader and partnership accounts.
- Preparation of working papers/control accounts from incomplete accounting records.
- Using accounting software to provide accurate reporting for Managers, Partners and clients.
- Preparing basic corporation tax computations for clients.
Requirements:
- At least 1 years’ UK audit &/or accounts practice experience.
- Educated to A-Level (or equivalent standard) or higher e.g. degree. You must have a minimum of 3 A Levels at grades A, B, B or higher.
- Strong aptitude for IT, specifically Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven communication skills, verbal and written.
- A positive, confident and proactive attitude.
- Enjoy working as part of a team and self-motivated.
- Willingness to undertake and succeed in a range of professional studies.
